This is our first offering from the Nyamasasa washing station, nestled in the Kalehe district of South Kivu in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Though small in size with just four full-time staff, Nyamasasa CWS plays a big role in its community, working with over 1,900 smallholder farmers who deliver their cherries to the station. There, it's processed with care into parchment before making its way to the Jumbo Safari dry mill in Goma. From there, it crosses into Rwanda and is exported by our longtime homies at Gihanga Coffee.

We’re excited to feature this lot, not just for its vibrant, complex cup, but because it represents a new connection we hope to grow over time. Gihanga’s direct relationship with Nyamasasa gives us a real sense of hope that, even amidst the ongoing conflict in the region, we’ll be able to continue supporting the station and the network of producers it serves. This coffee is a reflection of resilience, community, and the strength of long-term relationships in action.
