Buku Sayisa Washing Station // Hambela Wamena, Guji, Ethiopia
Washed processed heirlooms // 2200 - 2310 masl
This coffee comes from the Buku Sayisa washing station, tucked deep in the Hambela Wamena district of Guji, Ethiopia. The region’s high elevation, rich soils, and careful processing produce some of the most expressive coffees in the world.
We were introduced to this lot by our friend Yoni, a local Denver coffee pro who recently launched his own importing company, Emba Coffee. To honor the roots of his journey, we’ve named this lot Hagosa, after Yoni’s grandmother. She was the one who first nurtured his love for coffee through the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, teaching him that coffee is as much about connection and community as it is about flavor.
In the cup, this Hagosa lot is joyful and vibrant, showing off everything we love about Guji coffees. You'll find big notes of watermelon gummies alongside the juicy brightness of yellow nectarine, all wrapped up with a clean, bright finish.
Stories and relationships like this are what we're all about here at Queen City: coffees grown with care, shared by friends, and genuinely connected through the collective supply chain.
