In the same Shakiso district as the Jigesa washing station from where we source our washed lot, there is another washing station owned by Mr. Faysel Yonis and his family under their company, Testi Coffee. This washing station serves smallholder coffee farmers in the village of Denbi Uddo. About 850 farmers grow their coffee at 1800-1950 meters in the green, lush highlands and deliver their cherries to Testi’s washing station. Mr. Faysel Ahdosh is the washing station manager and he oversees the work of cherry processing, whether washed or natural. This particular lot (#TST130) is a natural [dry process] coffee that was sun-dried in cherry for over two weeks on raised beds. The result is a sweet strawberry profile with nice, crisp citrus brightness.
