Caficultores Diferenciadas del Norte del Tolima (CDNT) is a regional association of "caficltores" (coffee farmers) in and around the towns of Palocabildo and Casabianca in the rugged Northern Tolima region of Colombia. Working in tandem with our longtime friends from La Real Expedición Botánica (LaREB), CDNT is committed to increasing farming income for its members based on differentiation and not charity, so their livelihood can become a sustainable and profitable business model. This new generation of producers in CDNT collectively strives to achieve an economically viable coffee business by improving both the quality and range of the coffees they produce. Then, with LaREB's international marketing network, they tap into a market of roasters willing to pay fair prices for their high-quality coffees.

This particular coffee is a regional selection from the collective production of CDNT members. It is a washed lot comprised of Caturra, Colombia, and Castillo varieties that have been fermented in-husk for up to 24 hours before being de-hulled and washed. Like any classic Colombian coffee, this is a wonderfully balanced, complex, and full-bodied cup, and it also highlights the uniqueness of the northern Tolima region with an approachable level of brightness and sweetness. You'll find notes of honeydew melon nestled in the bold cacao profile.
